  1. Having released not one but two studio albums in , Tarja’s brand new digital single bundle revolves around “An Empty Dream” from her prequel “The Brightest Void”. The song that has been re-written and re-worked for the release of her studio album has its origin in the soundtrack of the Argentinean movie “Corazón Muerto”.
  2. The Brightest Void is further evidence that this will continue to be the case, the claim from TARJA herself stating The Brightest Void will give you more than a first taste of The Shadow Self is proved correct. The prequel opens with the single No Bitter End which sets the listener up for they can hear on the rest of the album.
  3. Album Description. Finnish soprano powerhouse Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) never does things halfway. This "prequel" to The Shadow Self, her upcoming full-length, comprises new songs, covers, and a new mix, with some guest appearances tossed in. While some of the music is excellent, the project ultimately feels cobbled together rather than purposefully presented.

  6. Sep 04,  · The Brightest Void, an Album by Tarja. Released 3 June on eARmusic (catalog no. EMU; CD). Genres: Symphonic Rock/5(2).
  7. Apr 07,  · This album 10 stars. It's a little bit different in my eyes, but it shows Tarja's flexibility in music and talent as well. She needs to be recognized in the United States!! I know she is visiting the States alot more than she use to. Also shes a big fan of some older metal bands too! Great album! If you like Tarja!
  8. Aug 05,  · This album was released so close to the Brightest Void, it probably could have been released as a double cd, but I think it works to have the two released separately. The selections on this cd sound more eclectic and rock-guitar driven than some of her earlier releases/5().
  9. The guitar breaks are killer, and the vocal contrast between Sharon den Andel's powerful alto and Tarja's soaring soprano harmony is arresting. Ultimately, The Brightest Void doesn't sound like a stand-alone document as much as a product to sell on tour while awaiting the album's release. In other words, it's for completists only.5/
